Who doesn’t love chocolate chip cookies?

I have been making these cookies since middle school and tweaking it here and there, and I believe that I have concocted the perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe! I’ve always had a passion for baking and cooking and this is one of my earliest memories of doing just that. I like to believe these are the perfect chocolate chip cookies. While I understand that everyone believes that their chocolate chip cookie recipe is the best, I have made these for several different functions and made them for many special occasions and I’m always asked to share my recipe. So obviously, they’re the best and no further proof is necessary, right?

Chloe loves these, by the way. She’s been raving about them since the first time I made them for her. 10/10 from Chloe!

Anyway, here it is: the highly anticipated—and extremely delicious—chocolate chip cookie recipe!

Wine Pairing Suggestions

Yes, you can certainly pair wine with cookies. One only needs the means and the motivation and anything is possible! (Someone put that on a poster!)

While any dessert pairs well with Port (and I highly recommend Port, especially this one). If you're looking for table wine, I suggest a nice Cabernet Sauvignon or Pinot Noir. Make sure to look for ones with rich, chocolate-y flavors in them and they will certainly make a nice pairing.

Adapting This Recipe

The thing I love the most about simple chocolate chip cookie batter is that it’s a blank canvas. If you’re looking to change the flavor, just keep the ratio of chocolate chips and batter the same and there should be no issue adapting this recipe to even the zaniest of flavor combinations. I’m so excited to see what you guys come up with!

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Yield: 2 dozen

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Total Time: 45 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 ¾ cups All Purpose flour

  • ½ tsp baking soda

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • 1 cup dark brown sugar

  • ½ cup granulated white sugar

  • 1 cup salted butter, room temperature

  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 2 cups (12 oz) semisweet chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300 degrees F on convection bake. If you don't have convection bake just set your oven to 300 degrees F.

  2. In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt. Set that aside.

  3. Using a stand mixer, a hand mixer or a whisk, blend together the sugars and add in the softened butter. Mix all of those ingredients together until you have a fluffy and grainy paste.

  4. Add the eggs and the vanilla to the sugar and butter mixture and mix until well combined and the batter is light and fluffy.

  5. Add in the entirety of the flour mixture and mix slowly, or at a low speed, until it's just combined. Do not overmix the ingredients on this step!

  6. Fold in the chocolate chips by hand, if you are not doing so already.

  7. Using a 2 Tbsp cookie scoop, or just a large spoon, drop rounded bits of batter, with 2 inches of space between each cookie, onto a cookie sheet that has been lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

  8. Bake on convection for 12-15 minutes, keeping a close eye on the cookies. If you don't have a convection oven, simply bake for 22-25 minutes.

  9. Allow the cookies to cool before serving.

Enjoy!
